Chip Temm –
Changing the world one line of code at a time.

Over the past 25 years, I have developed a deep appreciation for how rapidly circumstances can change in the world. Nevertheless I can still be surprised. The past two years since 2020 in particular have been full of surprise and tragedy with COVID rapidly changing the way we approach work, and then the dramatic turns of events in Afghanistan and Ukraine. However, my approach is to always build flexibility into the solutions that we deploy so that we can react to deal with the surprises that are unfortunately inevitable in our work.
Over the past several years I have worked within Tetra Tech to bring acquired companies in the international development division together in a common operating model which supports the needs of project offices in developing countries while leveraging a global team of excellent technology professionals to deliver world class service. Doing this requires a delicate and constantly changing balance that takes into account every project's specific needs and client relationship while incorporating global standards to provide consistent support and performance.

TESTIMONIALS

Jed Brubaker

Founding Assistant Professor of Information Science
University of Colorado Boulder

Chip and I worked closely on software solutions for the MCAT while at the AAMC where he was easily the most technically competent project manager. As we worked through the complex technical and business requirements of the new computer-based MCAT, I experienced Chip's ability to collaborate with developers on a technical level, provide feedback where appropriate, and his talent as a well-honed sounding board for solutions to tricky problems.

While working for Chip, I always felt he was trying to help me archive my greatest potential. He creates a space to execute good work, and makes tools available (logistically, technically, and organizationally) to make that work great.

Chip can take on large-scale, complicated projects and bring them to full implementation according to plan. At Conservation International, he hand-built a huge knowledge management system with a brilliant object management and security architecture that formed the basis for many of CI's high-profile dynamic web presences. Chip is also a solid communicator, able to work with techies and non-techies alike, and explain complex or technical concepts in meaningful ways to a variety of audiences. More specifically, Chip is also one of the most effective listeners that I've ever met.
